Preppy Quilt

Sunday, April 26, 2009

I can finally stop making quilts for a while now that the last of my unfinished quilts is complete! Yay! I definitely need a break from my sewing machine for a while now. It seems like I've been free motioning for the last week straight and sewing on bindings like there's no tomorrow.

I switched up my normal stippling routine for this quilt and freehanded rows of loops instead, à la glittergoods.

I went with lime green for the binding and hot pink for the background and I really like how all of the colors contrast with the navy blue. I think this is my favorite quilt so far this year. It's just so bright and cheery and fun!

  13. hooray for loopy quilting! your loops are much more orderly and polite than mine, but I think I like both types of loops for different types of quilts. can't wait to show you the car quilt--just needs a binding....
